ANDY SERGEANT
Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Producer
Andy started his musical education at the age of 11 at the music academy of Deinze, studying musical theory and playing the piano. He started composing his own music by the age of 14.
After experimenting in several bands, Andy started collaborating with Thomas Hendriks in 2005, producing dance music. A.T.P stands for uplifting trance, receiving worldwide airplay by Armin van Buuren as 'Driftations' was voted Tune Of The Week in his radio show 'A State of Trance'.
With his first TV-performance as the pianist for Flemish actor/TV-host Niels Destadsbader, in the summer of 2009, Andy soon started to get familiar with the pop music industry. He became part of Niels' live band, composing some of his greatest hits, including the TV-tune for 'De Elfenheuvel', a children's series on national television.
After months of writing and composing, Andy introduced himself to the world as a lead singer in 2014. Andy is a pop artist, but his songs often are cross-over genres with dance, glamrock and r&b influences. This wide range of music is frequently characterized with a piano fuelled undertone.
In February Andy's first single Taking Control was released on iTunes with a number 28 notation in the Top Songs - Pop download listing, followed by his very first studio album What I Want. The record features 13 selfwritten songs and was co-produced by his The Globe-colleagues Joris and Roel.
Next to working on his music project, he is also a full time music teacher and a proud member of the songwriting team of Bromo at The Globe Recording Studios.
